5. EXPERIMENTATION - PICTORIAL SYMBOLS AS WORDS

Every part of these pictorial symbols is dependent on the complete
picture and on its relation to the other parts of the whole.
Images make us almost independent of the knowledge of written or
spoken language, because images, whose details are clear to everybody,
are free from the limits of written or spoken language.

As Otto Neurath has put it: words make division, pictures make connection.
